Arbeitsfeld des Fachbereiches 8 ist die Wechselwirkung von Informatik und Gesellschaft. Der Fachbereich analysiert Voraussetzungen, Wirkungen und Folgen von Informatik, Informationstechnik und Informationsverarbeitung in allen Bereichen der Gesellschaft.
Der FB 8 arbeitet an gesellschaftlichen Zielsetzungen für die Informatik und leitet
daraus Gestaltungskriterien ab. Er will Fehlentwicklungen in der Informatik aufzeigen
und Wege für eine gesellschaftlich verantwortete Technikgestaltung weisen. Dazu unterstützt
er einschlägige Tätigkeiten in Forschung, Entwicklung, Bildung und anderer beruflicher
Praxis. Aufgrund dieser breiten Ausrichtung bestehen vielfältige Beziehungen zu den

Der FB 8 ist derzeit in fünf Fachgruppen (FG) für längerfristige Tätigkeiten gegliedert. In zwei Arbeitskreisen (AK) werden zeitlich begrenzte Aufgabenstellungen verfolgt.

Proceedings of conferences are published and are available to members at a discount on the published price.
